The production, distributed by Warner Bros. and due in cinemas on 25 June 2027, sets its story in 1962 and follows the parents of Danny Ocean preparing a heist on the fringes of the Monaco Grand Prix. After shooting in Paris this summer, the crew has set up its base on the Darse Sud and the esplanade des Pêcheurs, the first stage of a regional shoot announced from 24 August to 15 October 2026 between Nice and the Principality. Our offices overlook this perimeter, and the show from the windows matches the one on screen: period cars lined up along the quay, signs and street furniture redressed, extras in early 1960s outfits from five in the morning.

Key Takeaways: the Ocean's Eleven shoot in Monaco
The Ocean's Eleven shoot in Monaco takes over Port Hercule and Monte-Carlo for six days. Here are the facts that matter to residents and owners.
Film
The Ocean's Eleven prequel is written and directed by Bradley Cooper, with Margot Robbie, Wagner Moura and Monica Barbaro.
Dates
The Monaco shoot runs from Sunday 23 to Friday 28 August 2026.
Locations
The operation covers Port Hercule, quai Albert Ier, the Casino square, avenue Princesse Grace and avenue des Spélugues.
Traffic
Road closures apply from 5am to 10am and do not affect residents; quai Albert Ier is closed to pedestrians all week.
Period
The story is set in 1962, around the Monaco Grand Prix.
Casting
Casting calls are looking for profiles resembling Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier III: an appearance by the princely couple is possible, but it is not confirmed by the production.
Release
Warner Bros. has announced a cinema release on 25 June 2027.
Market effect
A shoot works on the fame of an address, not on prices: the Monaco square metre remains at 59 942 € on average according to the figures compiled by Petrini Exclusive Real Estate Monaco.
Petrini tip: if a production approaches you as an owner for a location scout or to use an apartment, have the arrangement set out in writing (duration, insurance, reinstatement) and inform your building manager. An address that appears on screen gains recognition, provided the arrangement is properly framed.
Which film is being shot in Monaco in August 2026?
It is the Ocean's Eleven prequel, written and directed by Bradley Cooper, who shares the billing with Margot Robbie, Wagner Moura and Monica Barbaro. The film does not yet have an official title. Its story unfolds in 1962, a date that is far from incidental for the Principality: this is when the Monaco Grand Prix became a society event as much as a sporting one, and when the image of Monaco settled lastingly into the international imagination.
This is not the first visit of the franchise to the Principality: Ocean's Twelve already filmed here in 2004, under the direction of Steven Soderbergh. Monaco remains a sought after location, as shown by the list of recent productions surveyed in our analysis of series and films shot in Monaco, from The White Lotus to Emily in Paris.
Grace Kelly and Rainier III in the cast? What the casting calls suggest
No appearance by the princely couple is confirmed by the production, but several clues point that way. Notices published by specialist casting sites are looking, for an American production filming in Nice and Monaco, for a woman in her thirties resembling Grace Kelly and a man in his forties resembling Prince Rainier III, with costume fittings scheduled for the end of the summer. The timing matches that of the production, announced in the region from 24 August to 15 October 2026.
The connection is credible for one simple reason: in 1962, Grace Kelly had been Princess of Monaco for six years and the couple she formed with Rainier III was inseparable from the image of the Principality at that time. Recreating a Grand Prix weekend in the early 1960s without showing, even in silhouette, the figures who then embodied Monaco worldwide would be a surprising directing choice. We are offering a reading here, not production information.
Where is the shoot taking place and which streets are closed?
The heart of the operation is the Port Hercule area, with quai Albert Ier closed to pedestrians from Sunday 23 August at 12pm to Friday 28 August at 11.59pm. Road closures, for their part, apply only from 5am to 10am and do not affect residents, which limits the disruption to the first hours of the day. The buildings lining the harbour, in the Port district, have the best seats in the house.

The statement from the Prince's Government also specifies that many CAM and ZOU ! bus stops are not served until 10am throughout the week, and that adjustments may be made depending on the needs of the shoot. Thursday 27 August is the most sensitive day for the Monte-Carlo district, with the Casino square, avenue de Monte-Carlo and avenue des Spélugues closed at the same time in the early morning. What a shoot really changes for Monaco
The effect of a shoot is measured in exposure, not in shooting days or in rising prices. A week of filming at Port Hercule does not move a market where the square metre trades on average at 59 942 € and peaks at 74 967 € in the Carré d'Or, according to our price per square metre figures. No buyer decides to move their family to the Principality because they recognised a quay in a film: they decide for the tax framework, the safety, the schooling and the residence card.
What cinema does produce, on the other hand, is an address recognition that works over the long term. A quay filmed by Hollywood, a building recognisable in the background, a facade appearing in a trailer watched by tens of millions of people: this symbolic value adds to the reputation already built by the most looked at addresses in the world, those of the Carré d'Or. It also explains a recurring request we see coming from owners: location scouting enquiries to use a private apartment as a set.
Then there is the Monaco paradox, already noted in our previous analyses: the Principality pays no tax credit to productions, unlike France or Thailand, and requires the full script to be submitted one month before the first day of filming. It still attracts, in the same year, two international series and a Hollywood production. That is probably the best definition of an irreplaceable location.
Living in Monaco during a week of filming
In practice, the life of a resident is disrupted early in the morning and returns to normal afterwards. Residents keep access to their building, subject to the interruptions strictly required for filming, but surface parking disappears on the streets concerned from 3am, and leaving by car before 10am calls for an alternative route. We have moved several viewings this week to the early afternoon for that reason.
A week paced like this is a reminder of what Monaco demands and offers at the same time: a territory of 2.08 km² that hosts, one after the other, a Vuelta stage, a Hollywood shoot and, at the end of September, the Monaco Yacht Show. The city closes and reopens at a rhythm that few capitals could sustain. For a resident, that is the price of an address that remains, set or no set, one of the most watched in the world.
